Terms of Use
Last updated: 17 September 2026
Welcome to Haider. By using the app you agree to these terms. Please read them — they are short.
About Haider
Haider is a free companion app for the Shia community, offering prayer times, the Qibla direction, duas, ziyarat and an Islamic calendar.
Religious content
Duas, translations and explanations are taken from established sources (listed on the Sources page) and provided in good faith. Translations and explanations are aids to understanding and do not replace the Arabic text.
Haider does not issue religious rulings. For questions of fiqh, please follow your marja‘ and consult a qualified scholar.
Prayer times, Qibla and dates
Prayer times are calculated astronomically using the Ja'fari (Leva Institute, Qum) method and may differ by a few minutes from your local mosque or marja's timetable. The Qibla direction depends on your phone's compass, which can be affected by magnets, metal and calibration.
Hijri dates are calculated with the Umm al-Qura calendar and may differ by a day from local moon sighting.
Please use your own judgement, especially near the start or end of a prayer time or fast.
Your account and conduct
You are responsible for the information you enter. Profile photos must be respectful and appropriate.
Do not misuse the app, attempt to interfere with how it works, or use it for anything unlawful.
Notifications
Alerts and reminders rely on your phone’s settings, battery saving and permissions. We cannot guarantee that every notification will arrive on time.
Availability and liability
Haider is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we are not liable for any loss arising from its use, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes and contact
We may update the app and these terms. Continuing to use Haider after a change means you accept the updated terms.
