Why are my prayer times different from my mosque or another app?

Haider calculates times for your exact location using the Ja'fari (Leva Institute, Qum) method: Fajr at 16°, Maghrib at 4° and Isha at 14°. Mosques and other apps may use a different method or add a few minutes of precaution, so small differences are normal. When in doubt, follow your local mosque or marja'.

Why is Maghrib later than sunset?

In the Ja'fari school, Maghrib begins once the redness in the eastern sky has passed overhead, not at sunset itself. Haider marks this when the sun is 4° below the horizon, which is usually 15–20 minutes after sunset.

The Qibla arrow looks wrong.

Move your phone in a figure-8 a few times to calibrate the compass, and keep it away from metal, magnets, magnetic phone cases and car mounts. Hold the phone flat. Location must be turned on so the direction can be calculated from where you are.

I'm not getting prayer alerts.

Check that notifications for Haider are allowed in your phone settings, and that Focus / Do Not Disturb or battery saving isn't silencing them. Alerts are prepared a few days ahead, so open Haider at least once every few days to keep them coming.

Why is the Hijri date one day off?

Haider calculates Hijri dates with the Umm al-Qura calendar. Many communities begin each month with a local moon sighting, which can differ by a day. Follow your local announcement for exact dates.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything in Haider works without an account. An account only keeps your name and profile photo, and it is stored on this device only.

Does Haider collect my data?

No. Haider has no ads, no tracking and no analytics. Your location, reminders and settings never leave your phone. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Open More → Profile → Delete Account to permanently remove your account. Uninstalling Haider deletes everything the app has stored on your phone.
