Privacy Policy

What stays on your phone

Everything you save in Haider is stored only on your device: your account (name, username, email or phone number, a securely hashed password and profile photo), bookmarked duas, reminders, prayer alert choices, language, appearance and text size.

This information is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Accounts currently exist only on your device, so we cannot see them.

Your location

Haider asks for your location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The calculation happens entirely on your phone. Your last known location is saved on your device so prayer alerts can be scheduled, and it is never sent to us.

You can turn location access off at any time in your phone settings. Prayer times and the Qibla will not work without it.

Notifications

Prayer alerts and calendar reminders are local notifications created by the app on your phone. No notification server is involved, and you can turn them off in the app or in your phone settings.

Camera and photos

If you choose to add a profile photo, Haider asks for access to your camera or photo library. Only the photo you choose is copied into the app’s private storage on your device.

App updates

Haider downloads improvements through Expo’s update service (expo.dev). To deliver an update, Expo receives standard technical information such as your IP address, device platform and app version. Expo handles this under its own privacy policy. No personal content from the app is included.

Private classes

The Classes page is the one place where information can leave your phone, and only if you choose to use it. Tapping the WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with a message ready to send — nothing is sent until you send it. Once you do, the teacher sees whatever WhatsApp shows him, including your phone number, along with anything you write.

The classes are arranged and paid for directly with the teacher, outside the app. Haider is not involved in the arrangement, takes no payment and keeps no record of it. WhatsApp handles your message under its own privacy policy.

The Sources page links to external websites. They have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Children

Haider is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in control of it. You can permanently delete your account at any time in More → Profile → Delete Account. Uninstalling Haider permanently deletes everything the app has stored.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
